The menu is a delightful journey through coastal and global flavors, spotlighting fresh East Coast oysters served chilled on Mondays during their popular “Chilled ‘N Raw” specials, where a half dozen oysters arrive on the half shell, paired with house-made mignonette and cocktail sauces for just a dollar each — a true indulgence for oyster lovers. The Fisherman’s Platter is a generous celebration of the ocean’s bounty, while the Lobster Roll accompanied by fries and coleslaw is a classic that truly satisfies. For those who prefer a heartier fare, the Blackened Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Parmigiana bring bold, comforting flavors to the table. Their baked haddock has received rave reviews, praised for its fresh, melt-in-your-mouth quality that leaves diners craving more.
Mission on the Bay’s weekly specials add excitement to every visit: from New England Fried Tuesdays featuring crispy Haddock, Sea Scallops, and Whole Belly Clams to “Wing It Thursdays” where bold Peri Peri, Buffalo, Mango-Habanero, Shoyu, and Garlic Parmesan wing sauces ignite the taste buds. And what better way to pair these flavors than with their house Santilli Pale Ale or a thoughtfully curated selection of wines.

Guests often comment on the breathtaking waterfront views that set a picturesque backdrop whether you’re indulging in a leisurely brunch with family or gathering for a lively evening out. One reviewer fondly recalled a Saturday brunch with a party of 15, praising the "world class" service and the all-you-can-eat brunch spread at just $20, enhanced by the friendly, attentive staff who make every visit feel special.
Service here consistently receives glowing feedback, with servers like Diana and Lori going above and beyond to surprise guests with decadent desserts and personalized attention that turn meals into memorable experiences. While some patrons note a slightly casual vibe compared to the property’s former incarnation, the spirit of hospitality and community is palpable and very much alive.
Whether you are in the mood for fresh oysters, expertly prepared sushi, satisfying seafood classics, or innovative cocktails enjoyed against the sea breeze on the open deck, Mission on the Bay stands out as a magnetic culinary destination. Its inviting space, rich flavors, and warm service help create moments worth savoring — a place where the beauty of the bay complements the pleasures of the plate.
First visit since this spot was the beloved Red Rock Restaurant. The view is amazing and unfortunately like many spots with great views, the food was just average. We were please to see they maintained the incredible views that this property offers but a bit disappointed that it has become so casual. The property lends itself to more of an upscale sophisticated vibe but it has changed. This was a December visit for us so we assume the summer upstairs deck must be popular. The greeters were not real warm but of course we loved Paul P. from the former Red Rocks who greeted and welcomed everyone so enthusiastically. Paul made you happy to dine there and we did regularlybecauseit was so wonderful. The casual menu of Mission by the Bay offers a variety of offerings not stictly seafood at all. I do recommend the shrimp scampi, it was excellent. My husband's fried clam entree was good, but not excellent. The crabcake appetizer was awful, full of filler mush, not crabmeat, especially for $24. We couldn't even eat it. Our server was attentive and sweet. Overall, we would probably go back for the views but not on a regular basis because of the food offerings.
The food was delicious! I got the baked haddock and it was so fresh it melted in my mouth! My husband had the seafood casserole and it was a huge portion and fantastic! Diana, our server was amazing! She surprised us with a decadent desert that was incredible! One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time! Highly recommend this restaurant and if you are lucky, maybe you will get Diana to be your server!
Came here for a friend’s birthday, party of 12. Service was good. Reason for me saying that everyone got their meals and there was about a 10 mins wait until I got mine. No one touched their meals until I got mine, which I felt very bad for considering that their food was not going to be as hot, especially the birthday girl!! I did get a free drink, which was appreciated. I got the shrimp scampi for my dinner. I forgot to take a photo of it but it was so so. More soupy than saucy. Some appetizers did not come until dinner came. For apps I got the calamari and the crab cake which were delicious. But the vegetables underneath weren’t needed. For desert, there was a cake and some cupcakes but we were not offered a desert menu or any coffee/tea. So unfortunately, I guess I missed out on that. Drinks were great. Ordered a glass of the NZ Sauvignon Blanc, which had fantastic notes of lemon and grapefruit. I was given a free drink for the dinner mishap, watermelon martini. Now that was fabulous. The check took forever to get back to us when we were ready to go. Overall, I’m not in a rush to come back but when I do, I’ll come preferably early in the day vs a Friday night dinner.
Saturday brunch of 15. Lori was our server and she was world class. The brunch is all you can eat for $20.00. On the ocean. Almost as spectacular as Lori who added food to orders and served it family style (it was all family). She hustled over $5.00 mimosas and chatted with us. World class service. Good food…eggs Benedict was my favorite. Did not enjoy the meatballs but I’m picky with meatballs. We had a wonderful time and we were not on the roof.
Coconut + Ginger Beer Mocktail was AWESOME! My husband got the Clam Chowder and I got the Tuna Tartare. Clam Chowder was ok. But Tuna Tartare went above and beyond! We ended up sharing it. And we’ll definitely come back just for that! And the menu has plenty options… Highly recommend, especially in Summer time. They open deck is GREAT!
